About L’Abbraccio

L’Abbraccio Children’s Hospital is a pediatric hospital located in a large rural area of Collins County, where approximately 48% of the population consists of children under the age of 15.

The hospital currently employs about 60 Beninese staff members, supported by a dozen interns. In addition, about 40 volunteers—mainly Italian or Canadian, from a variety of professional backgrounds—participate in the hospital’s activities each year. Furthermore, about 20 Canadian university students complete internships each year in various departments of the hospital.

Objectives achieved

Much more than numbers—stories of change : a multidisciplinary and multicultural research group, the result of activities carried out in Benin and Italy.

Each figure reflects the tireless work of the staff, volunteers, and partners who believe in the vision of “L’Abbraccio” and have supported its work for more than 20 years.
