L’Abbraccio Children’s Hospital is a pediatric and maternity hospital founded with the goal of ensuring the right to health for children and families in the Collines Department of Benin.
Founded through a collaboration between Beninese professionals, international aid organizations, and various partners committed to health cooperation, the hospital has developed an approach centered on a welcoming environment, quality of care, close ties with local communities, and respect for the dignity of every individual.
The facility offers services in pediatrics, obstetrics, neonatology, general medicine, surgery, laboratory testing, and medical imaging, as well as a nutrition center, with a particular focus on emergency situations and the most vulnerable populations.
L’Abbraccio Children’s Hospital also relies on a network of international partnerships with doctors, specialists, volunteers, universities, and partner organizations from various countries to strengthen staff training, facilitate the exchange of expertise, develop medical projects, and continuously improve the quality of care.
Beyond hospital care, L’Abbraccio Children’s Hospital—through its partnership with Cooperativa Sociale Minerva—also carries out prevention, awareness-raising, and intervention activities in schools, middle schools, and the most remote villages on the topics of reproductive health, malnutrition, and combating school dropout, with the aim of improving access to care and support for families.
The hospital is committed to a continuous process of improving quality and patient safety, inspired by international standards and adapted to local realities, with the goal of building a healthcare system that is humane, accessible, and open to the world.
“Caring for children, supporting mothers, and guaranteeing the right to health for all” embodies the spirit that guides our teams’ work every day.
